Just In: Adams Oshiomole Aided Away By Nigerian Army To Escape Attack

Intervention of Nigerian Army aided Adams Oshiomole to escape attack at Benin Airport on Saturday afternoon.

What could have led to bloodbath at Benin Airport was averted by Nigerian Army personnel and other security agencies as youths stereotyped to be loyal to Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, booed national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The youths, numbering over 200 in number were said to have stationed themselves at the Airport waiting for Comrade Adams Oshiomhole whose arrival immediately stirred the already irked youths as they started chanting all sorts of anti-Oshiomhole’s songs.

Anti-Oshiomhole’s songs such as: ‘Oshiomhole o le’ (Oshiomhole thief); ‘Oshiomhole you worwor’ (Oshiomhole you are ugly); ‘Oshiomhole you short’, etc were chanted as they were ready to attack him immediately he surfaced from the VIP wing of the Airport.

It was learnt that Dr. Pius Odubu, General Charles Airhiavbere, Samson Osagie and other APC chieftains loyal to Oshiomhole were at the airport to receive him when the incident happened.

However, it took efforts of men of the Nigerian Army to disperse the mob as they repeatedly fired at the air which made the youths to retrieve from their planned attack.

Their retrieval enabled his security aides and other security men mobilised to the Airport to forestall possible attack and booing on the National Chairman quickly whisked him to his awaiting vehicle which zoomed off immediately.

On before his (Oshiomhole) arrival, there were heavy Security personnels mobilisation to the Airport in order to forestall any attempt to boo Oshiomhole or prevent him from leaving the Airport.

However, as at the time of filing this report, effort to reach Oshiomole was unsuccessful neither his media aides as they were so busy to attend to press men.
