Sani Michael Omakoji, Reacts To Lawal\’s Election Nullification By Appeal Court

Though, Nigerian Judiciary has been called all manner of names lately due to its bias judgement.

Be that as it may, there is ongoing political tsunami which has subjected INEC to subject of riddicule among political pundits.

It is against this background that our ever reliable analyst, Sani Michael Omakoji, reacts to Appeal Court Judgement which nullified the election of Hon. Mohammed Lawal Idris representing Ajaokuta Federal constituency of Kogi State.

Let us read his reaction;

\” Barely a week to the nullification of the House of Representative Election of Hon. Wambai of APC representing Lokoja/ Koton Federal Constituency, which decleared Barrister Shaba of PDP as the authentic winner, the Court of Appeal has also sacked Hon. Mohammed Lawal Idris of APC representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency of Kogi State.

The situation is not also different as Electoral Tribunal recently nullified the election of Hon Hassan Bewa of APC representing Dekina/ Bassa federal Constituency.

As this political tsunami continues which would definitely sink many Politicians who robbed his or her way to power, one begins to wonder the kind of Electoral umpire we have in this era.

If the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) cannot/couldn\’t do simple addition but wait for court to tell them the right addition, then one also begins to question the accademic credentials of the people that are in this commission.

Let me digress a little that; the last election in Kogi State which brought these poltical smugglers into power were won at gun points.

While many cried woes of INEC\’s Compromise and social engineering by security agents, great Kogi\’s Amazon, Natasha Akpoti who was unlawfully disqualified from Kogi November Gubernatorial Election, described INEC as \”an extension of APC\” as she equally said INEC acts to the dictate of Government in power.

To the issue at hands, statistics available arising from court judgement revealed that Hon. Alosius Okino of PDP actually won the election of Ajaokuta Federal Constituency with nine hundred (900) votes aside results of twenty one (21) polling units which were disrupted.

Now, if INEC is not an extension of APC as observed by Barrister Akpoti, how come Hon Mohammed Lawal Idris\’s votes which were/are short of 900 votes to his contender, Hon Alosius Okino was enough to make Mohammed Lawal Idris winner by INEC?

We all alluded that PDP was corrupt in Power but if PDP was worst than what we are seeing APC using INEC to do today, will President Muhammadu Buhari and APC\’s loyalits won any election in this country?

I write with so many issues of irregularities daggling in my brain thus, I wouldn\’t want to bother you with so many issues but let me qoute one of the most celebrated books in the world, the Bible, which states, \”right from the beginning, the kingdom of God suffereth violence and violence taketh by force\”

Am I encouraging violence? No! but is a clarion call to PDP that it is not yet time to shout \”ohuru ohuru\” but a time to deploy all arsenals to resist these illegalities across the twenty one polling units where rerun elections would be held.

Though one modern postulation believes that \”nobody has monopoly of violence…\” let me add that \’in an unjust society, enduring injustice is a crime\’ and in another related thought, let me also say that if you see snake right on time and you still allow such snake to bite you, is your fault.

PDP and other opposition parties should shine their eyes! \”
