Nigerian Judiciary came to limelight on Monday being 13th January 2020 as a candidate who took 4th position in the last gubernatorial election in Imo State was declared winner at Supreme Court.

How can that be or who could done such \”abrakadabra\” judgement?

Well it has happened as our OurWorldGist\’s reporter, Sunday Uzor who was at the venue of the judgement confirmed the Supreme Court\’s pronouncement.

According to our reporter, Hope Uzodinma of APC who pulled 96,458 occupying 4th position in the last gubernatorial election in Imo State was yesterday declared winner without substantial judicial precedent neither electoral Acts to justify the Supreme Court\’s judgement.

The details result of gubernatorial election held in Imo state in March 2019 are as follows:

PDP: Ihedioha Emeka = 273,404

AA: Uche Nwosu = 190,364

APGA: Ifeanyi Ararume = 114,676

APC: Hope Uzodinma = 96,458

YPP: Ikedi Ohakim 527

With this judgement, many well meaning Nigerians and the rest of world are asking question if Nigeria is still practicing democracy or now practicing the ruling party, APC?

According to Barrister Udor Uche, an Impolite, he said, \”if this judgement should stand, it means that Animal Farm is now better than Nigeria; I would be ashamed henceforth to tell anybody that I am lawyer in this country call Nigeria…\”

Meanwhile, Governor Emeka Ihedioha is reported to be in shock even 24 hours after the purported judgement hence, he is yet to make official press release concerning the kangaroo judgement.

For the benefit of those who are yet to read the judgement, here is the news track that gives reason for said judgement:

\” The Supreme Court has nullified the election of Emeka Ihedioha and has declared Senator Hope Uzodinma winner of the March 19 Governorship election in Imo.

The appellant Senator Uzodinma contended that he scored the highest number of votes in the election, but the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returned Emeka Ihedioha as the Governor of the State

The apex court declared that the votes due to Senator Uzodinma was unlawfully excluded from the 318 polling units and be added to his votes.

In a unanimous decision by the 7 man panel delivered by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, the submissions of a Principal witness who was on a subpoena to present results held that the lower court was wrong in its ruling.

Justice Kekere-Ekun, while reading the lead judgment, declared that Senator Uzodinma is the validly elected Governor and the certificate of return issued to Ihedioha be withdrawn.

Meanwhile, candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Uche Nwosu, withdrew a second appeal filed against the election of Emeka Ihedioha.

According to his counsel, Mr. Solomon Umoh (SAN), the withdrawal on Tuesday is based on the judgment of the apex court delivered on the 20th of December 2019\”.
