Npower Beneficiaries To Enjoy New Minimum Wage Like NYSC Corps Members

Npower Beneficiaries are likely to enjoy new minimum wage as their junior who are currently serving as Corps Members have on Friday 31st January 2020 confirmed the increment of their Allawee from N19,500 to N33,000.

This development revealed that corps members are now enjoying almost 43% increment of their former allawees following the implementation of new minimum wage to Nigerian Workers.

Meanwhile, Analysts who are speculating for Npower Beneficiaries are of the opinion that, if such \”consideration\” is to be extended to Npower Beneficiaries who are considered as senior of corps members, then in the spirit of \”fairness\” they should henceforth begin to expect allowance of N45,000 and above.

From available investigation, Npower Beneficiaries across Nigeria are yet to receive their January 2020 monthly stipend.

Perhaps, some Npower optimists who spoke with ourworldgist have expressed confidence that \”delay in January 2020 stipend must have been as a result of upward review of their stipend to match with new minimum wage.

Earlier this week, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, says N-power beneficiaries need not panic as the government is considering plans for their exit.

Farouq made this known in Abuja on Thursday when she visited the corporate headquarters of Media Trust Limited, publishers of Daily Trust saying: “I don’t Know The Fears Of The Beneficiaries, But I Know That government Had This N-power Programme And it’s supposed to be a two- Year Programme.

Those in 2016 were supposed to have exited in 2018, but because there was no plan in place, the tenure was extended.

So, they know from the onset that it’s not a programme that will be there for life.

“For us as a ministry, we’re looking at all options for the planned exit.

We’re not just going to exit them to their fate, we have options and we’re deploring these options so that they can have something to fall back on.

The year has just started and we hope that before the end of the year, we should come up with an exit plan,” she said.
