#DelayInMartchStipend: Npower Volunteers Return Minister Sadiya\’s Easter Wish With Protest Words

The Minister of Humanitarian and Disaster Management who is also in charge of the Social Investment Scheme of the Federal government ( Npower ), Hajiya Sadiya Farouq received a shock of her life on Sunday being 12th April, 2020 when Npower Volunteers who are angry over the delay of their Match stipend bombarded her twitter handle to express their anger.

Hajiya Sadiya Farouq who posted a message of facilitation on her twitter handle @sadiya_Farouq to wish Christian faithfuls \”Happy Easter\”, got back handful of protest comments from beneficiaries over what they described as \” incessant delay of monthly stipend \”

Recall that Lawmakers and stakeholders have to intervene at different occasions for the beneficiaries stipend to be paid in the past.

Perhaps, they might be in for the worst time especially at the moment that most stakeholders and lawmakers are taking cover against COVID-19.

From investigation, it is understood that since, the Minister Sadiya Farouq resumed office October 2019, the monthly stipends of the beneficiaries which is N30,000 for each beneficiary has faced unnecessary delay.

According fact available, the stipend of the beneficiaries for the month of January 2020 was delayed to the last week of January of the said month before it was paid.

Amid ongoing protect by the beneficiaries on twitter with hash tag #PayNpowerMarchStipend, Minister Sadiya Farouq shut herself on the legs when she posted the screenshot below on her twitter handle.
