\” The long awaited day for the good people of Kogi State is here with them on 23rd May, 2020.
It is a day set aside by Tribunal Court to deliver Judgement on Kogi November 16 2019 gubernatorial election.
As I stated in my earlier article ( Opinion: Expectations Of Nigerians As Tribunal Sets To Deliver Judgement On Kogi Nov 16 Guber Election By, Sani Michael Omakoji ) it was an unprecedented violence election not just in the history of Nigeria but of the world in general.
While some political observers described the said election as a remix of Rwandan genocide, others likened it to be Egba women riot of 1927 in Nigeria.
Infact, those who witnessed the election in Lokoja the state capital described the election as September 11 mass attack of 2011 that brought down the beauty of white house in America as Lokoja was attacked with Helicopters spraying bullets, arms and ammunitions as well as teargas.
It was recorded that people watched for the first time in the history of the world how Helicopters were used to teargassed electorates and rigged the election massively for APC who was openly rejected by the people.
Let me say here that I am not here to tell you this time around how the election was rigged across the 21 Local Government Areas in Kogi State in favour of Yahaya Bello of APC, rather, I am here to report how \”All eyes are now on Judiciary\” as she sets to deliver Judgement.
\’As I walked around in the city of Lokoja recently, I decided to sample opinions from different strata of the society and these are the responses I got from people:\’
\” Under this APC government, we have seen impossible happened. You recalled how Hope Uzodinma of APC who took 4th position in an election came from behind to win Emeka Ihedioha of PDP who earlier won overwhelmingly? My brother, what do you call that from Judiciary? Will I be wrong if I preempt this Judiciary who is giving Judgement base on power that be or base on instruction from above?\” – Anonymous

Similarly, three groups of persons that I also interviewed, reacted in one accord as they said: \”We thought PDP was corrupt but during PDP\’s led government, Adams Oshiomole of APC, went to court and he was able to unseat Professor Oserheimen Osunbor of PDP in Edo State and in the Same vain, Dr Rahman Olusegun Mimiko of Labour Party also got his mandate in court at the expense of Chief Segun Agagu of PDP in Ondo State. Can we get these kinds of twins justice today under this APC\’s led government who used \” change mantra\” as her campaign slogan but failed beyond explanation ?\”
To some other persons, they say, \”what happened in Osun Election, Kano, Edo, Ekiti just to mention a few that was later endorsed by the Judiciary are still fresh in their minds\”.
Because of time and space, I will not be able to bring all the opinion pulls but from the assessment of the opinion pulls, one will not be wrong to preempt the Judiciary under this APC led government of today.
Notwithstanding however, with the cases of: Over voting, endorsement of organised crime by INEC & Compromised security apparatus, falsification of election results, death and violence as well as massive rigging by APC\’s thugs all tendered and admitted at the tribunal by PDP\’s legal counsel, \’All Eyes Are Now On Judiciary\’ whether she is going to maintain the status quo we have witnessed under this government or there would be change of narrative as Tribunal delivers Judgement on Saturday.
Having said that, let me also educate my followers that, whichever way the judgement goes on Saturday, it is not an end of the legal battle between Engr Musa Wada of PDP and Yahaya Bello of APC as the door will still be opened to go to Appeal Court and even Supreme Court\”.
